How many guests attended or will attend your wedding reception?

The Reception
Double Up:
Have your florist create a smaller bouquet that you can use for the bouquet toss so that you can keep your actual bouquet as a keepsake.

When buying your garter, pick up an additional one for the garter toss leaving you with the original as a keepsake.

On the Table:
When choosing a centerpiece for the tables make sure the piece won’t interfere with dinner conversation. The last thing you want is your centerpiece to be cleared out of the way by guests who can’t see across the table.

Single-use cameras can be placed at each table to capture candid shots.

Wedding Toasts:
Traditionally toasting begins after the first course has been served. The kavor or the best man should make the first toast, followed by the maid of honor, and then the bride and groom give the final toast. However, keep in mind that most often than not the groom’s father may choose to also give a toast. In this case it’s up to you to decide when to fit him in.

The Cake:
Remember you will need an elegant cake knife and cake server for cutting the first slice of the cake. In addition you may consider buying elegant champagne glasses, perhaps with your initials and wedding date engraved on them.

Ask the bakery to provide an additional box so the top layer of the cake can be transported safely home to be frozen until your first anniversary.

Also, consider the option of having a smaller wedding cake elaborately decorated  to serve the purpose of a beautiful show piece.  Then have your baker make a sheet cake that will be served to the guests. This can be especially helpful if you’re having a large wedding.

Photo Slideshow:
Creating a slideshow of pictures of family & friends has great entertainment value. A slideshow presentation can be made during your rehearsal dinner or during your wedding reception. Instead of playing the slideshow as a featured movie as it is generally done, a good idea is to play the slideshow in a loop so your guests can enjoy your favorite moments throughout the evening. You can also choose to play the slideshow while your guests are waiting for the bride & groom to make their entrance into the wedding hall.

A condensed version of the slideshow is a great keepsake that can be mailed out with the thank-you cards. This is an especially nice treat for family and friends who were unable to attend your wedding.

Handkerchiefs:
A great way to add color to the dance floor is to pass out colored handkerchief to all the female guests. This fun accessory not only brightens up your dance floor and looks great in your wedding video.
