Featured Wedding: Lisa and Ron

Written by . Posted in Featured Weddings

We've always been fascinated with the beautiful hats British women wear to weddings. Recently, hats have come back and in trend taking over Pinterest and inspiring wedding guests. With that said, we couldn't help but fall in love with Ron and Lisa's elegant spring wedding.

Ron and Lisa had a beautiful wedding at a private villa in Malibu, which once belonged to Princess Diana. They had an outdoor ceremony with gorgeous floral decorations and aqua, white, and pink color designs. The guests wore hats during the ceremony, adding a classic touch to the wedding. Since the villa once belonged to Princess Diana, the hats fit the style of wedding perfectly. As the live band played, Lisa walked down the aisle wearing a custom designed graceful off-the-shoulder wedding dress and married her true love, Ron.

We are excited to feature this beautiful couple’s wedding photos by Vic Studios and their romantic love story.

Ron and Lisa Wedding

Ron and Lisa met at a Christmas party thrown by a mutual friend at an antique store in 2009. Although they had met several years earlier they never got to know each other beyond a hello in the Beachwood Canyon neighborhood. The night of the party was a dramatic event for Lisa because she ended up getting locked in the store accidentally! She went to the restroom towards the end of the evening and came out to discover that everyone had left, the lights were out and she was locked in! There was no landline and her cell phone didn't work. She looked at the glass door that stood between her and freedom and decided she wasn't going to spend the night there or the weekend for that matter. She kicked the glass door in and freed herself from the dark, dank antique shop. She realized that she couldn't leave because her friend's store could be robbed. She stood there and did a special Buddhist prayer for a solution. About five minutes later two women drove by and their phone seemed to be working. She waved them down and asked to borrow their phones. She called the owner and he showed up with Ron! The guys boarded up the door and offered to drive her home. As they drove past her apartment, she told them "hey-you passed my place!" They insisted she joins them at a party in the neighborhood. From that night forward, Ron and her have never been apart. Ron proposed simply in their home in Los Feliz about a year later. He said, "Looking at you makes me smile and I want to spend the rest of my life smiling." He dropped down on one knee and opened a little black ring box which revealed a stunningly beautiful Tiffany style, brilliant cut, round diamond and popped the question. They decided on a spring wedding in June of 2012 in Malibu, at a private villa. They wanted a very elegant wedding with a great photographer. Her dress was custom designed in Beverly Hills by a warm-hearted woman named Liza. Vic’s Studio photography took their incredible photos that they will cherish the rest of their lives. Ron and Lisa are in the process of adopting children and look forward to Vic taking their family photos. As a caveat to this story, there was an unlocked door at the back of the antique store that Lisa could have just walked out of! For some reason it never occurred to her then. Perhaps it was destiny, but sometimes in life, you have to break down the door to find true love!

Here's the stunning photos from their wedding.
