|Q & A with Sahak Photography|
With summer wedding season in full swing we had a chance to catch up with Sahak of Sahak Photography. One look at Sahak’s portfolio and it's clear that every photo shoot is a unique and memorable experience. The pictures Sahak take are more than just images, he captures moments. We wanted to know how he takes these gorgeous images and captures that perfect moment with that perfect shot.
Harsanik.com: How do you capture that perfect moment?
Sahak: I prefer to capture a more artistic side of the couple. I try to embrace their soul and spirit as a couple. I pay attention to out of the box compositions and processing techniques to make each picture unique. And finally, patience is key. It’s important to watch the couple interact and learn about them in order to capture that perfect and sometimes candid moment.
Harsanik.com: How do you make a couple feel comfortable in front of the camera?
Sahak: By joking, smiling and making sure they are happy. It also helps for a couple to be active so the poses are organic and not forced. I always give my clients tips on how to relax, encourage them to deep breaths, give them time to relax and not rush them. If this doesn’t help, alcohol always does!
Harsanik.com: What tips do you have for couples?
Sahak: Sleep the night before, or at least try to. Be ready on time, relax, smile, and remember to eat either before the shoot or during.
Harsanik.com: Which photo shoot has been your favorite experience or most memorable?
Sahak: My favorite photo shoots are always the unique ones. I love taking pictures at unusual venues like an alley, the top of a building, or in a hotel lobby. I have to say my most memorable experience was an engagement shoot I did with a beautiful couple at a hotel in downtown LA. The bride-to-be wore a gorgeous and classic red dress that complimented the venue while standing out at the same time.
Thank you to Sahak Photography for sharing his photos and tips with us. We can’t wait to see more pictures as wedding season continues.
