Featured Wedding: Svetlana & Mister X

First glance at Svetlana and Artur's wedding photos and we were in love. Artur, also known to many as famous Armenian singer Mister X, and Svetlana's wedding was a royal fairy tale. Mesmerized by all the photos, we reached out to Svetlana, who planned her own wedding, and she shared their romantic story and all the details of their fairy tale wedding.

How We Met

Artur and I met through our love for music on April 20, 2013. As most know, Artur who is also known as Mister X, is a singer while I am a songwriter. It was Love at first sight when we met for a business meeting to write the lyrics for an upcoming song. As I tried to speak and question him to see what type of song he is looking to sing, he would avoid the topic and ask questions about my personal life. I knew we were meant to be as soon as everything was said and done.

The Proposal

The love of my life, Artur, proposed to me while my family and I attended his concert on a cruise to Mexico. The proposal was extravagant. It was everything above and beyond my expectations. Artur invited me to dance with him on stage during the show. Next thing I know he was on one knee asking me to marry him. I was in complete shock. Although we always spoke about planning an engagement as well as our wedding, I did not expect Artur to propose on stage in front of a large audience. I did not know whether it was a dream or reality. My eyes were filled with tears of joy.

Growing up, I have always heard that planning a wedding is a very difficult and demanding task. I did not realize how difficult it is until I started planning my own wedding, which took place on November 1, 2015.

I personally used plenty of online sources to gather ideas and information. Harsanik.com was very helpful and inspirational. It introduced to me vendors, ideas, and much more.

Morning Festivities 

It has always been a dream of mine to plan my own wedding. My favorite part of this magnificent experience was designing my all-time dream wedding gown. My wedding gown was a custom gown made by Karoza Design. Karo assisted me to bring my dream dress into reality. I was looking for a modern yet royal gown. After spending numerous days going to different bridal stores, and trying quite a few bridal gowns, I came to realize that I would not find the exact gown I was looking for. Because I had an image in my mind of what I wanted my gown to be, it was a little bit more challenging choosing a dress at a certain store. I believe that one's wedding gown has to be everything she has ever imagined it to be. That is when I knew I had to visit Karoza.

However, the most difficult task for me was to arrange the seating chart for over 400 guests. Although planning was a lot more challenging than I thought it would be, it was an unforgettable and lovely experience. I wouldn't trade it for the world.

Our wedding incorporated several Armenian traditions. Some examples include the morning celebrations, putting on the bride's shoes, and a door guarded by my one and only brother with a sword.

Besides our I do's, one of my favorite and emotional moments from my wedding day was dancing tango with my father under a song I had wrote many years ago.

One of my most favorite characteristics Artur has to offer is his romantic side. He had personally written a song dedicated to me on one of the most important days in our lives. Artur had shared the music to the beautiful song with me; however, the lyrics were a complete surprise. I was able to convince Artur to share the music of the song, due to the fact that we had a choreographer to assist us with choreographing our first dance as husband and wife.

Artur sang the song beautifully for our first dance. Memories from our entire wedding day is going to be broken into a music video to my favorite song so far, Sirum Em Qez, by Artur Hakobyan. One advice I would like to share with all future brides is to not let the challenging days overcome the beautiful occasion. There may be many small problems that arise; however, it is natural and it is what makes the wedding planning interesting, memorable, and special. The number one priority for all brides should be to follow their inner thoughts; to pursue everything they have ever dreamed of for their wedding day.
