Bridal Beauty Preparations

Written by . Posted in Articles & Guides

Feeling beautiful and healthy is one of the most important factors for every bride on their wedding day. With all the planning, it's important to set aside time for yourself and start your health and beauty preparations in advance. This way, better results are reached, there are no unexpected surprises, and there's less stress closer to the big day. Here are some Bridal Beauty tips to prepare for the wedding day.

1. Face

Keeping your face looking smooth, clean, and vibrant for your big day is important. Everything from your eyes, lips, to your smile needs attention. Get a lot of sleep, use eye cream, get facials, exfoliate your lips, use whitening strips, and don't eat a lot of salt. Most important drink a lot of water! It is very important that you don't test products or have facials close to the wedding. Start treatments early to find what's right for you.

2. Hair

There are a few tips to keep in mind when it comes to hair. First, decide if you want to grow your hair for your wedding and start early. Second, don't get a drastic hair cut close to the wedding. If you're planning on a major change, do it a few months in advance. It is recommended to get a last trim prior to the big day. Lastly, choose the right shade of color in advance and color your hair at least two weeks in advance. To keep your hair looking healthy and vibrant, talk to your hair stylist bout the appropriate hair treatments.

3. Brows

If you have a brow specialist you've been going to, great! Otherwise, book an appointment few months prior to the wedding for trial and to choose the right brow shape. This will give you a peace of mind, instead of a last minute visit for the first time! If you live close to Glendale, we highly recommend Andrew Velazquez who specializes in brows, along with being a talented hair & makeup artist.

4. Body

Pamper your hands and feet to ensure your skin is soft. You can also have body facials if you wish! Exercise and choose a well-balance diet to look and feel great on your wedding day.

5. Facial Hair Treatments

If you're going to get any facial hair removal treatments, make sure to schedule accordingly to avoid redness, swelling, or other reactions. For instance, don't try waxing for the first time before your wedding! Schedule few days prior, and use calming creams.

6. Tan

If you're going to self-tan or spray tan, try it in advance. Find out the best shade of color and work with a professional to avoid surprises.

7. Manicure/Pedicure

Have your manicure and pedicure done a few days before. Options like gel manicure help with longer lasting nail polish to avoid last minute touch ups.

8. Makeup

Choose your makeup look prior to the wedding and communicate to your makeup artist. If you have dry or oily skin, talk to your make up artist to take the necessary steps prior or even the morning of your wedding. If you're makeup artist provides a trial, do it! This can help you choose the right look and for your makeup artist to get familiar with your face. 9. Mind

Relaxing your mind reflects on your mood and your face! Besides all the beauty essentials, it's important to relax your mind and enjoy planning your wedding. Sign up for yoga classes, dance, meditate, hike, schedule spa treatments, and engage in activities that keep you happy, healthy, and smiling!
