Christine's Story: Wedding Dress Shopping
The most fun I’ve had so far during all of my wedding planning has definitely been trying on bridal dresses. Until I was engaged, I never really had a style of a dress that I liked or a general look that I wanted. When talks about a dress came up, someone said to me “You can wear a mermaid dress for a lot of different occasions but you’ve never going to be able to wear a ball gown dress again.” With that said, the search for my ball gown dress was on!

Many people suggested that I stop by Karoza Bridal in Glendale to try on dresses. There were a couple dresses that I really loved but when they say “you know when you’ve found the one”, they mean it. I couldn’t say that the dresses I tried on were really, “the one”.

I visited two more dress stores to try on more options. At one of them, I found my dream wedding gown but it was at least 3 times my budget! I tried to find similar ball gown dresses everywhere. Finally, when I went to IBEX Bridals in Downtown LA, I decided to try on my first mermaid dress. I spent hours trying on ball gown dresses, none of them looked right on me. People kept telling me I am “getting lost in the dress.” The owner took one look at me and he said, “I have a dress for you and you’re not leaving until you try it on”. He showed me the mermaid dress in a magazine and I immediately said “no”. I didn’t want to be rude so I tried the dress on anyway. I was in love. My mom was speechless. I was a little bit embarrassed that I didn’t listen to him from the start. Although I really loved that dress, I’m still searching for the perfect one.

Can’t wait to find my dress and show you what I choose!
