Christine's Story: Trash the Dress Photoshoot!
Years before I even started planning our wedding, I was introduced to Pinterest. As I started my Pinterest search, the first images I came across were about a unique idea called "Trash the Dress" photography, where after the wedding, the bride and groom essentially "trash" their outfits to get some incredible photos. After our wedding I felt like I had to have a "Trash the Dress" photoshoot! Here are all the details of our "Trash the Dress" Photoshoot with Mher Vakahn Special Event Photography.
The Location:
We wanted to find a beach in Los Angeles that was more than just water and sand and particularly a beach that wasn't crowded which is tough in LA. Mher and Atina recommended Palos Verdes Beach. We hiked down a big hill in front of the Trump National Golf Club and even took some photos at the park in front of the golf club. It was absolutely beautiful!
The Dress:
As I told people about the photo shoot, they couldn't believe I was willing to trash my wedding dress. The truth is – I didn't! I chose to purchase a pre-owned wedding dress to "trash". It ended up being perfect because I got to have photos in a mermaid gown, from our wedding, and in a ball gown, for the photoshoot, which was a dream of mine. Hopefully, now that I am finished with it, I can pass it on to another bride to do the same!
The Photographer:
We originally met Mher Vahakn Special Event Photography at the Harsanik Bridal Show. I was so lucky to win a free pre-wedding shoot with Mher and Atina. We absolutely loved the casual romantic style of our pre-wedding photos so we connected with Mher to take our "Trash the Dress" photos as well. Mher absolutely killed it! The photos came out amazing.
I'd recommend doing a Trash the Dress photoshoot to every couple! Even if brides do not want to trash the dress they wore at their wedding, getting a similar dress and having a photoshoot is a must! The photos that Mher Vahakn Special Event Photography took are worth a lifetime of smiles.
XO
