Trash the Dress Photoshoot: Ando and Angie
Ando and Angie's fairytale love story continues as they do a Trash the Dress photoshoot! The high school sweethearts got engaged with a sweet surprise proposal and tied the knot on July 22, 2016! After they returned from their honeymoon, they didn't want to waste any time, so they decided to do their Trash the Dress photoshoot by Gorfo and StavroVideo Productions right away! Here are all the details and photos of their romantic and fun Trash the Dress photoshoot.
Location
Ando and Angie chose Leo Carrillo State beach for their Trash the Dress photoshoot. They had told their photographer that they wanted a picturesque location and knowing Angie loves the beach, this was the perfect location. When explaining their decision, Angie said "there is just something about the sea salt air that calms me. The beach has always held a big part of my heart... I have never been able to quite explain what I love so much about it. Maybe it's how in all the world, only the shore has never changed...and the horizon can never be changed... nor is anything comparable to its beauty".
The Idea
Angie loved the idea of a storyline when it came to their photos. Starting with a fairytale pre-wedding photoshoot, their wedding day, followed by a Trash the Dress photoshoot, each concept represents a different chapter in their lives. For her, Trash the Dress photoshoot shows the happily ever after that comes after the wedding... walking into the sunset, leaving footprints in the sand, and all the other romantic stuff! They just needed an amazing cinematographer to bring it all to life!
The Challenges
If you've ever tried to do a photoshoot at the beach, you know there's challenges! Angie and Ando did not anticipate any difficulties and to their surprise, they were wrong! First, Angie wore her wedges without contemplating that they'd sink in the sand! Then, as the weight of the water pulled on the tulle of her dress, her train detached! Luckily, since her train was detachable, they were able to remove it and move on! Eventually, the lower half of her dress was completely drenched and the weight of the water was practically tearing her dress in half! As Angie says "thanks to the killer quality of the dress", her dress didn't rip and made it through the photoshoot!
As always, the photographer plays a big role in all of this! In their case, the photographer played a prank on them too! Angie explains "as we were leaning on a rock waiting for the right moment, a massive wave went over us and well, he got an excellent photo as evidence of this tragic event that totally destroyed my hair! But man, what an experience!"
The Dress
Doing a Trash the Dress photoshoot is a tough decision as most brides are afraid of ruining their dress. Angie felt the same way. Her biggest concern was what would happen to her stunning Galia Lahav dress as she had big plans about preserving her dress and more. After the photoshoot, she was terrified of what happened to the dress from all the sea salt water and sand. But with Ando's help, they hosed down every piece of her dress from every layer of tulle, organza, and so on. They left the dress out to air dry, and to their surprise, the dress looked practically brand new! Lucky for Ando, they found him a spare suit to wear during the photoshoot!
The Experience
Ando and Angie loved their experience of doing a Trash the Dress photoshoot. Angie said "It was tough to decide whether to do it or not, only because I was afraid of destroying my dress. But the photographs and the memories were worth it. And really, with the right crew of people, it becomes one of the most entertaining photoshoots anyone can have. I can look at those photographs and close my eyes, go back to that moment, and remember exactly how I felt, and that's all I have ever wanted when looking at what is now a memory..."
Thank you Ando and Angie for sharing all the details and stunning photos of your Trash the Dress photoshoot... we wish you a happily ever after!
