10 Wedding Apps No Bride Should Be Without

Written by . Posted in Articles & Guides

Technology has evolved exponentially within the last ten years, and the wedding planning process has joined the evolution. Where once, brides would carry around heavy binders filled with information on venues, caterers, photographers, and all other wedding vendors they were considering, today they have the luxury of browsing, calling, and ultimately choosing all of their vendors from one small, pocket-sized device, thanks to wedding planning smartphone apps. There are tons of wedding apps out there, each with a different layout or functionality. Here are our top 10 favorites.

1. The Knot:

If you’re looking for a reliable app that does everything, you need The Knot, which also offers a complete website and magazine for added support. The app and the site come loaded with a wedding dress finder, checklist, registry creator, directory of wedding vendors in your area, a budget tracker, and so much more. You can even create your own webpage on the site, where your guests can access event information and registries.

2. Wedding Wire:

Wedding Wire also offers a complete, start to finish wedding planning experience, but goes a step further than The Knot by allowing you to contact, book, and pay your vendors, all within the app. It does not, however, offer the same in-depth guides and forums as The Knot.

3. Pinterest:

Most of our wedding planning begins on Pinterest long before we’ve even begun to entertain the idea of getting engaged. Though we wouldn’t recommend it for the actually serious planning process, it’s a great way to get a general idea of what you want your wedding to look like, which saves you a great deal of time once you begin shopping for vendors.

Trello allows you to create, organize, and re-organize projects, add comments, due dates, and so much more. And, best of all, you can add users to your projects, like your mom or bridesmaids, to ensure that everyone is always on the same page.

Instead of scouring social media for photos your guests took during your wedding, you can use an app that allows your friends and family to upload all of their photos in one place. With wedding party, you, your friends, and your family can share all the photos from your event in one place with everyone. Afterwards, you can even upload one batch to Facebook if you'd like.

7. RightGift:

Creating a wedding registry can be challenging, especially if you’re looking to register in more than one place. You have to ensure all of your guests have access to all of your registries, that you don’t have duplicate items across several registries, etc. RightGift is your solution. They have a huge barcode database from a multitude of retailers, so you can add items across hundreds of stores all in one place. When your guests purchase items, your registry is updated, leaving much less room for error and duplicate gift purchases. Note, however, that RightGift is not available on Android.
