Talar's Story: Hair and Makeup

Written by . Posted in Talar's Story

With my frizzy, unruly, and extremely thick hair, it’s practically impossible to find a hairstylist who can do a good job. At least until I found Nare! A friend of mine had made an appointment with Chateau De Luce for her bridal shower, and I went along. No one, and I mean no one, has been able to pull of what Nare can. Once after, I had my hair done for my parent’s surprise party and again it looked flawless. So when it came to making an appointment and deciding who will be doing my wedding hair, there was no doubt in my mind, that it would be Nare!

Talar's Story: Hair and Makeup

Owner of Chateau de Luce and celebrity make-up artist Lucine has been so incredibly patient with me each time I have been there. I’ve told her before that I am possibly the worst client she’s ever had because I tend to not really like too much make-up on my face. More importantly, Serj doesn’t like it when I have make-up on either (such a blessing!)

I called Chateau de Luce in June and asked for their availability. Their staff was so helpful in accommodating my unsure plans of how many people I would have, and giving me a complete and full list of prices and helping me time my appointments. I met with Lucine, and she explained to me the breakdown in costs, how it would work with so many people, what the differences would be if they came to my house vs. if we went to the salon and really helped me make a decision.

Ultimately, me, my mom, my to-be mother in law, my sister-in-law (i.e. my maid of honor), my niece (my flower girl), and three of my bridesmaids are all going to get our hair and make-up done at Chateau de Luce starting at 6:00 a.m.!!!!! I can’t wait to see the magic Nare and Lucine are going to pull off on my big day and even more importantly, can’t wait for my included trial to get a sneak peek at the look.

When to book:  ASAP – Salons get booked fast, especially during wedding season and during holiday weekends.

Costs to expect: $750 - $2, 000 for a bride’s hair and make-up. Bridesmaids could expect between $100-$300 for hair and make-up together, depending.

Helpful tip: Hair and make-up is a wedding day event and the last thing you want to worry about is cash. Make sure to ask the salon/artist if you can pay with a debit or credit card or in advance.

XOXO
